NATO DIANA Quantum Centre (DIANAQ) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scientific Project Manager with broad expertise in quantum technology and applications.

About us
DIANAQ is anchored at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen and is part of the NATO DIANA - The Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Alliance - initiative. The ambition of DIANAQ is to accelerate the development of companies from the Alliance member states working with quantum technologies and contributing to NATO’s technological edge.

DIANAQ consists of a Quantum accelerator located at Deep Tech Lab A/S, BioInnovation Institute and a number of state-of-the-art test and fabrication facilities located at the Technical University in Denmark (DTU), the Danish National Metrology Institute (DFM), Aarhus University (AU), and the Niels Bohr Institute (NBI), University of Copenhagen.

The Scientific Project Manager will be located at NBI and reporting to the Head of Department as well as the DIANAQ Coordination Committee while also collaborating with the Centre Coordinator.

Tasks and responsibilities
The Scientific Project Manager will liaise directly with innovators and play an instrumental role in facilitating collaboration with partners and stakeholders nationally and internationally. Furthermore, the Scientific Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating and handling a broad spectrum of tasks such as:

Project manager for DIANAQ. Facilitate communications and coordinate scientific arrangements between DIANAQ test and fabrication facilities and relevant NATO DIANA partner. Respond to queries from innovators, provide quotes, and participate in contract negotiations. Ensure processes and procedures of DIANAQ project services pertain to the rules and regulations set forth by NATO DIANA. Participate in representing DIANAQ at meeting fairs, and at conferences. Provide input for reporting of activities to DIANAQ Coordination Committee. Ensure that the webpage for DIANAQ reflects the services offered.

Qualifications

We envision the candidate has a background in physics, engineering, nanotechnology or related fields at MSc or PhD level. Experience with nanofabrication of quantum components is preferred. Knowledge of low temperature cryogenics, photonics, optical and electrical characterization techniques is an advantage. Knowledge of safety in the work environment is required. Relevant experimental experience from a university or industry is an advantage. Project management skills, negotiation skills, and a commitment to be highly organized. Service-minded, pro-active team player capable of engaging with a diverse group of innovator and partners nationally and internationally. Strong communication skills and fluency in English, oral and written. Danish is an advantage.

Terms of salary and employment
The employment and salary are made in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

The position is permanent and starting 1 August 2023 or as soon as possible. Employment will be as Special Consultant. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. The working time is 37 hours per week on average. The working hours are flexible.
