Power Solutions & Vestas Quality > VPS Strategy & Portfolio Planning

VPS Strategy and Planning is a new department established to facilitate the strategic agenda in the Power Solutions area as well as guide and support large programs and projects of significant strategic or transformational impact. We aim to ensure Vestas' unparalleled position as a technology leader in the wind industry while preparing for solid and profitable growth. The team works closely with key leaders in Vestas Power Solutions and stakeholders across the functional areas of Vestas.

Responsibilities

Manage own strategic projects defined in collaboration with CTO and Corporate Strategy that are essential to delivering on Vestas' near-, medium-, and long-term technology priorities

Support ongoing strategic project owners in Vestas Power Solutions to maximize results by applying core "consulting skills" in strategic problem structuring, project management and communication

Represent Vestas Power Solutions in cross-functional strategy and business plan development, including Vestas' annual planning process

Build and keep an overview of strategic initiatives across Vestas Power Solutions, and support the building of compelling strategic narratives supporting empowered execution across the organization

Contribute to ad-hoc critical insights, analyses and discussions in relation to e.g., new technology-oriented business developments, M&A, planning and intelligence topics

Qualifications

4-5 years experience from a top-notch management consultancy or, alternatively, a multi-year background in in-house strategy in a global, changing company with an international culture

Master's degree and preferably an MBA or engineering degree

Competencies

Solid skills in strategic problem-solving and communication

Business understanding and pragmatism: ability and willingness to actively facilitate problem-solving, questioning and communication with limited support

Open and collaborative mindset: working in "ad-hoc" team structures, taking on new tasks of different sizes as needed, collaborating with both specialists and leaders of different backgrounds

Enthusiasm and self-motivation

An open, straightforward and unpretentious style

High ethical and compliance standards

Ideal but not necessary to have experience with renewable energy (e.g., suppliers, developers, investors), demonstrating an understanding of the industry's complexity from a technology, commercial and regulatory perspective
