About the role
We are seeking a Lead Copywriter to create engaging and persuasive copy across various platforms. This role requires exceptional writing and editing skills, a deep understanding of brand voice, and knowledge of the tech industry and B2B audiences. The Lead Copywriter will join Templafy’s in-house Creative team, reporting to the Creative Director. This role involves working closely with other teams to craft compelling campaigns that resonate with our target audience.

Proficiency in SEO, GenAI and digital marketing trends is essential for optimizing copy for search engines and increasing visibility. The Lead Copywriter will drive the brand's messaging, storytelling efforts, and maintain brand consistency across all communication channels.

Key Responsibilities
Copy creation & storytelling

  • Multi-platform: Develop persuasive and engaging copy for digital ads, social media, websites, email campaigns, video scripts, and beyond.
  • Editing: Review and refine content produced by freelance writers and other teams to ensure it meets Templafy’s high standards for quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Creative approach to storytelling: A persuasive and confident approach to creativity, capable of generating innovative ideas and solutions.

Data-driven copy creation & optimization

  • Trends awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI), and best practices in copywriting to infuse innovative ideas and perspectives into our projects.
  • Action-oriented: Create copy that motivates readers to take desired actions, such as making a purchase or signing up for a service, driving our business goals.
  • Performance monitoring: Analyze content performance metrics, such as web traffic, conversion rates, and digital ad effectiveness, to optimize our copy strategies and improve ROI.
  • SEO integration: Enhance website visibility in search engine results with high-quality, keyword-rich copy, boosting organic traffic and online presence.

Defining & maintaining brand voice

  • Tone of Voice: Develop and uphold Templafy’s tone of voice guidelines, ensuring consistency across all content creators within the organization.
  • Messaging alignment: Ensure all copy aligns with our product messaging, strategic narrative, and brand perspective, resonating with target audiences and buyer personas.
  • Brand identity: Create content that reflects the brand's voice, personality, and values, establishing a strong and memorable brand identity that sets Templafy apart from competitors.

Collaborating across teams

  • Cross-functional synergy: Work closely with Creative, Demand Generation, Product Marketing, and PR teams to brainstorm and develop innovative concepts for campaigns and content projects.
  • Feedback integration: Present concepts and copy ideas to internal stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine and perfect the content.

Leading copy projects, workflows & processes

  • Project prioritization: Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality copy that meets deadlines and quality standards.
  • Freelancer management: Oversee the projects and time management of freelance copywriters and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient workflows and optimal productivity.
  • Project briefs: Develop comprehensive copy briefs to support and guide copywriting projects.

Required Qualifications:
Experience & expertise

  • Professional background: Previous experience in professional, commercial, and tech writing positions, demonstrating a robust understanding of these areas.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing published content or messaging projects that highlight your ability to create impactful and effective copy.
  • Creativity: A proven track record of creating standout copy that captures attention and drives engagement.

Skills & abilities

  • Language proficiency: High proficiency in English, with excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in similar roles, with the ability to plan and strategize messaging projects.
  • Technical: Experience using GenAI tools to accelerate and repurpose copy and content.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring that all content is polished and error-free.
