A stimulating job in our Manufacturing Science Department in Copenhagen as a Upstream/downstream process scientist (temporary position for 12 months*) is open for a quality-minded new colleague with biopharmaceutical processing experience.
*Possibly will be permanent based on evaluation.

The Job
AGC Biologics continues to enjoy great success, with a steadily increasing number of projects – many of which are late-stage development projects preparing for commercial launch. At the same time, we are giving support to processes already running in our GMP facility for commercial supply. With AGC Biologics increasing activities, we are looking for a new colleague within Manufacturing Science to support upstream/downstream process.

Depending on your level of qualification, you will take part in key upstream/downstream process activities in several projects, both within microbial and mammalian processing. As a manufacturing Science Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Handling impact assessments for critical deviations for commercial projects.
  • Assessing impact for CRs for commercial projects.
  • Supporting all commercial tasks e.g., process improvements, risk and gap assessment, drafting technical protocols/reports, APQR.
  • Support GMP upstream/downstream manufacturing processes.
  • Strong collaboration with teams - Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Process Development.

The position offers interaction with a large number of stakeholders and is unique in having contact with both our customers. You will be introduced to biopharmaceutical companies from all over the world and be an active player in their projects. The department is mainly operating in an office environment so no laboratory or manufacturing hands-on work is to be expected.

The Department
The Manufacturing Science Department currently consists of 4 team members and the team is about to expand and you will be part of this growing team. We have open communication and strong support and flexibility within the team and between the department teams.

Your profile
Our new colleague should have the following experiences:

  • B.Sc or M.Sc. within biochemistry, biotechnology, engineering or similar educational background
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in biopharmaceutical development and/or manufacturing and/or Manufacturing science and technology.
  • Experience and knowledge of biopharmaceutical upstream/downstream unit operations
  • Excellent English communication and collaborative skills
  • A flexible approach and desire to take on and drive new tasks and responsibilities
