About this opportunity
Welcome to the Credit Control, Corporates & Institutions team in Group Credit Risk Control, which is part of Group Risk (2nd Line of Defence). We add value by performing independent credit risk control of the quality of the credit processes applied by Business Banking and Large Corporates & Institutions and their compliance with the credit risk framework. A significant part of our work is to participate in the decision-making process in credit committees and other decision tracks. The control findings are reported to the business stakeholders to improve the quality of credit decisions and processes. As Senior Risk Expert, you’ll play a valuable role in supporting the good quality of Nordea’s credit portfolio.
What you’ll be doing: Lead or participate in controls of the credit quality in specified thematic credit controls in order to identify potential areas for improvements and to ensure alignment with internal credit guidelines and policies to detect areas of improvement Participate in the decision making process in credit committees and other decision tracks in order to assure that decisions are in compliance with Nordea’s risk appetite and credit risk framework Advice and support business (1st Line of Defence) on credit-risk related matters Participate in various ad hoc tasks locally as well as cross border (such as ECB-related issues and the Model Development Programme) and in various other projects when relevant to develop and improve methods and working tools Participate in the process when creating and updating various internal credit guidelines and industry credit policies Increase productivity and quality with continuous improvements to contribute to cost efficiency and free-up time
You’ll join a Nordic unit with approx. 20 credit control professionals who actively take ownership over their assigned tasks and execute on them. We work as a team that makes the assessments in a transparent way, always based on facts. The role is based in Copenhagen.

Continuously update knowledge with new developments and new regulations within field of expertise to make sure credit risk assessments are done correctly
Your experience and background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within a relevant area Knowledge and experience from corporate credit risk assessments and of credit and lending processes for corporate customers Excellent collaborative skills and strong written and spoken communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with senior professionals High ethical standards with demonstrated integrity, tact and diplomacy You have an analytical and structured way of working, and you apply sound judgment in your work Superior level in Danish and English, both spoken and written
