INTRODUCTION
University of Southern Denmark - Department of Technology and Innovation - is looking for a full-time PhD candidate to focus on condition monitoring and predictive maintenance of marine combustion engines. The position starts on 1 October 2024 or soon after that, at SDU's main campus in Odense and industrial partner facilities.

The successful candidate will work on the Shippinglab phase II project, concentrating on digitalization, decarbonization, and safety in maritime operations.
The aim is to accelerate the green transition of the global maritime sector.Focus on developing digital twin models for CBM and PdM of marine engines.Use cutting-edge technologies like Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.Support ship operators and engine vendors to enhance performance and reduce emissions.PhD position fully funded by the Shippinglab Consortium.WHAT WE EXPECT
The PhD candidate will explore enabling condition monitoring and predictive maintenance in marine combustion engines through digital model development using Machine Learning.
