PhD Positions in Software and Robotics for Novel Use of Data in Automation

Job Description
SDU Software Engineering and SDU Robotics at the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, University of Southern Denmark in Odense, are looking for candidates for several 3-year PhD positions starting on 1 September 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Research Environment
If you're chosen, you'll join the SDU Software Engineering and SDU Robotics sections, central to the Odense Robotics Cluster, which includes Universal Robots, Mobile Industrial Robots (MIR), and over 120 other companies. The focus is on efficient software development and advanced robot solutions.

Project Description
Candidates will choose between two projects under the industrial-focused research project named FERA:
- Methods and Tools for Searching Robot Data to aid Programming
- Methods and Tools for Robot Programming using Reusable Code and Data
Profile and Requirements
We expect candidates to have a master's degree in a relevant field, be proficient in English, self-motivated, able to work independently, and have a strong sense of responsibility.
Application Procedure
Prior to applying, candidates must review the Faculty information for prospective PhD students and the SDU guidelines. Applications must be in English and include various documents, such as a Motivation Letter, Curriculum Vitae, and official transcripts.
Assessment and Selection Process
Applications will undergo assessment by a committee or expert, with shortlisting possible. Only shortlisted candidates will proceed to the next stage which may include interviews and tests.
Conditions of Employment
The PhD position is for 3 years and requires a master's degree. A PhD fellow should not engage in other employment simultaneously.
Applicants will be enrolled at SDU following Faculty regulations and the Danish PhD Programme Order.
Formalities
- At least three qualified applicants are needed to fill a position.
- CPR numbers should be omitted from documents.
- Documents must not exceed 10 MB.
