Join our innovative drug delivery spin-out project

DTU Health Tech is seeking an ambitious and energetic new colleague with a background in formulation chemistry to contribute to a pioneering drug delivery project aimed at cancer, infectious disease, and osteoarthritis treatments. This role is a unique blend of scientific research and commercial venture, involving work on patented technologies and a strategy for sustained release of small molecules, peptides and gene therapies. As a senior member of our small team, your opinions and expertise will be highly valued, and you will play a key role in evolving our research into a successful spin-out company within the next 18 months.

The primary objective of this position is to drive innovation in the field of drug delivery through the development of our proprietary biomaterial technology. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in bridging scientific research and commercial application, contributing significantly to both the technical advancement of local therapies and the strategic development of a new spin-out company.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize nucleotide and antibiotic drug delivery formulations.
Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to advance our scientific objectives.
Work collaboratively within a small, interdisciplinary team, taking on a senior/managing role within the group.
Engage in external research collaborations with commercial partners and hospitals to strengthen your competencies beyond your previous field of research
Participate in the commercialization process of our developed therapies through presentation in international conferences and pitch sessions with potential investors and funding agencies.

Qualifications:

PhD in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or related field.
Experience in formulation chemistry and drug delivery systems. Knowledge of depot technologies is considered an advantage.
Experience with lipo- and polyplex nucleotide formulation is preferred. Knowledge of antisense oligo technology and chemistry is considered an advantage.
Experience with analytical methods such as HPLC, DLS, fluorescence spectroscopy and MS techniques is highly preferred.
Prior involvement in commercial projects or startups is advantageous, but not a requirement.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, suited for a fast-paced environment.

Salary and terms of employment

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The position is a project position, currently the project runs for one-year, starting date is 1 October 2024 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
