The position:

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong background in managing and optimizing complex infrastructure in a production environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with a variety of technologies, including RabbitMQ (RMQ), Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, DataDog, GitHub Actions and ArgoCD. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.

Further to this we are looking for a responsible and pragmatic team player with a good sense of humor that is motivated by solving problems and delivering excellent service and support.

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure in our production and development environments.
  • Develop and manage our Kubernetes clusters to ensure efficient deployment and operation of applications.
  • Utilize ArgoCD for continuous delivery and automated deployment processes.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources to maintain high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and efficient code deployment.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
  • Maintain documentation of system architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve our infrastructure.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to IT incidents to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity. Handling critical incidents may require work outside of regular business hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role managing production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ (RMQ), Redis, Kafka, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with continuous deployment tools like ArgoCD.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Team player with a good sense of humor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Digital Ocean, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Understanding of networking and security best practices.
