Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby-Tårbæk Kommune, Denmark Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) Full time

Join DTU Electro's Photovoltaic Systems group to innovate in Building Integrated Photovoltaics. Collaborate on cutting-edge research with industry and academia for a sustainable future.
The Solar Photovoltaic Systems group at DTU Electro (Risø campus) is at the forefront of advancing research within a broad spectrum of applied photovoltaics (PV), encompassing building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV).

Our team is dedicated to pioneering solutions that enhance the efficiency, reliability, and integration of PV systems in urban and utility-scale environments. Collaborating with industry leaders, other academic institutions, and utilizing state-of-the-art experimental setups, we are investigating innovative materials, technologies, and methodologies to address current challenges in the field.

Our work extends from developing structural coloured foils for BIPV products, mitigating PID effects in next-generation PV modules, to modelling the impact of environmental factors on PV performance.

Through our comprehensive research endeavours, we aim to contribute significantly to the global transition towards sustainable energy.

Responsibilities and qualifications
This position is embedded within several projects developing BIPV solutions together with industry partners and other leading universities. Your focus will be on designing and testing new and innovative solutions for integrating PV in buildings, furthering the reliability of coloured BIPV products and improving the modelling accuracy of BIPV systems. You will build, manage and refine both indoor laboratory setups and outdoor test sites for long-term monitoring of BIPV installations.

Furthermore, you will contribute to international collaborations in BIPV research. The tasks will include:

  • Coordination with project partners in national and international research projects
  • Planning and carrying out of experiments and reporting of results
  • Lab management and characterization method development
  • Teaching and supervision of BSc and MSc students

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

We offer
DTU is a leading technical university globally recognized for the excellence of its research, education, innovation and scientific advice. We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment. We strive for academic excellence in an environment characterized by collegial respect and academic freedom tempered by responsibility.
