Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Affairs professional to join our Scandinavian Immunology Organization as Medical Advisor Gastroenterology in Denmark. In this role, you'll shape and execute medical strategies that advance our gastroenterology therapeutic area and drive the delivery of innovative treatments to people living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement medical strategies and tactics for our Gastroenterology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, portfolio in line with AbbVie's priorities.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with experts, academic centers and other healthcare professionals.
  3. Serve as scientific and medical expert in gastroenterology to internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Lead evidence generation by identifying evidence gaps and initiating, driving and/or supporting clinical trials and medical projects (internal and external collaborations). e.g., Phase IV, RWE, observational and registry studies.
  5. Provide medical insights and input to cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, regulatory, market access and clinical development.
  6. Review promotional materials and scientific communications to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
  7. Develop and deliver scientific presentations and medical education at meetings, conferences, and symposia and arrange advisory groups.
  8. Stay current with scientific literature, emerging trends, and the competitive landscape in immunology with focus on gastroenterology.

Location: Denmark (DK)

Qualifications
  1. Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Life Sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD) or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 2+ years in Medical Affairs (e.g. MSL, Medical Advisor, Medical Manager).
  3. Expertise in Gastroenterology or Immunology therapeutic area is a strong advantage.
  4. Experience working within the Danish healthcare, regulatory and business environment. Having worked across borders within Scandinavia is an advantage.
  5. Ability to build and maintain relationships and clearly and inspiringly communicate complex medical/scientific concepts to internal and key external stakeholders.
  6. Proven leadership in cross-functional settings, integrating medical insights into business strategy.
  7. Ability to navigate organizational structure and comply with internal processes and governance.
  8. Strategic thinker with impact-focused and results-driven mindset, with a proven track record of developing and implementing medical strategies.
  9. Strong planning and organizational skills, and the ability to get things done.
  10. Strong self-leadership and team-player mentality.
  11. Understanding clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements; experience in protocol development and evidence generation is an advantage.
  12. Comfortable with ambiguity and change in a dynamic environment.
  13. Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, nationally on a regular basis and internationally as needed is expected.
  14. Fluency (written, oral) in English and Danish language is required.
