This role is based in Denmark or Bangalore, India but we are open to hiring in other global office hubs.

The position

As the Head of Platform Governance, you will play a critical role in overseeing the development and execution of the global data and AI platform roadmap. Your mission will be to ensure the integrity, trustworthiness, and user-centric design of our platforms, aligning them with Novo Nordisk's ambitious goals. Reporting to the VP of Platform Engineering, you will lead a team dedicated to governance, lifecycle management, and value stream coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the execution of the global data and AI platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  2. Establish governance frameworks, security, compliance, and risk management activities for platform operations.
  3. Drive cross-team collaboration and manage PI planning and scrum ceremonies to streamline processes and optimize platform functionality.
  4. Ensure the platform is reliable, user-centric, and cost-efficient through FinOps, observability, and workload monitoring.
  5. Foster team development, recruitment, and leadership, maintaining an inspiring and psychologically safe work environment.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  2. 5–10+ years of experience in data engineering, platform management, or related roles, with at least 3 years in leadership.
  3. Expertise in IT and cloud infrastructure, software engineering, data analytics, and cloud security.
  4. Proven experience with governance, compliance, and risk management in highly regulated industries.
  5. Strong proficiency in FinOps, DevOps, and observability tools and practices.

About the Department

The Global Data & AI Platform Engineering department at Novo Nordisk is a newly established and strategically integral team dedicated to building and enabling the Novo Nordisk Global Data & AI platform. This platform is designed to serve and scale all data, AI, and analytics use cases across the organization. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and fostering collaboration across multiple disciplines, the department drives the development, governance, and optimization of scalable, secure, and innovative solutions that align with Novo Nordisk's pharmaceutical R&D, clinical, production, and commercial priorities.
