Do you want to join one of the world's fastest-growing energy trading companies and play a key role in building our new Macro Trading portfolio? Keep reading; we are looking for an experienced energy trader to join our newly established Macro Trading team. In Macro Trading, we combine macroeconomic insights and data analysis with market-specific knowledge of power, gas, and emissions to generate trading decisions. We primarily take strategic long-term positions with a horizon of six months to three years while also engaging in tactical position-taking to manage risks.

As a Macro Trader, you will actively manage risk on our strategic positions and develop systematic trading strategies. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with analysts and quants to develop algorithmic trading strategies.

Your journey as a Macro Trader
You will trade European power, gas, and emissions and play a key role in building the Macro Trading portfolio. You will join a team currently consisting of two people: an analyst and a trader (portfolio manager). Within three years, we expect the team to grow to roughly ten people, including analysts, quants, and traders.

We will ensure you are ready to take on your new role by giving you the best possible introduction to the team, our business, and organization. You will be introduced to our macroeconomic framework, and any potential knowledge gaps will be addressed to maximize your success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain systematic trading strategies in European power, gas, and EUAs
  • Engage proactively with quants and researchers to develop a portfolio of algorithms
  • Monitor all portfolio positions and manage risks accordingly

Qualifications – we imagine that you:

  • Hold a master's degree in Economic, Finance or similar
  • Have at least two years of professional trading experience, ideally with European energy markets
  • Have a solid proprietary trading track record
  • Possess excellent coding skills (Python, R, or similar languages is an advantage)
  • Communicate fluently in English - oral and written
