The Field Operation Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the site management teams locally/regionally, ensuring that Linxon policies are consistently followed. Develops, customizes and continuously improves standard processes and work instructions by adopting Linxon and external best practices. Ensures that lessons learned from Site Management are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated in continuous improvement actions.
What will you do?
- Local accountability for all site management activities. Ensure site operations and activities are executed in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments.
- Coordinate and oversee team development and standardized process development to continually improve effectiveness of project execution teams.
- Lead implementation of continuous improvements across various Site Management processes and tools within local or regional site operations under the guidance of Project Operations Manager.
- Responsible for coordinating across the project portfolio all on-site activities to ensure the successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
- Participate in the budgeting process, jointly with Project Director and Project Controller. Participate in Operations planning with other members of the Local Unit management team, and take actions to close potential gaps in Site Management functional capacity.
- Ensure that all sites within the geographical area of responsibility have detailed and up-to-date Health & Safety (H&S) plans in place in respect of each work package, compliant with the ABB H&S plan. Ensure all Site Managers are properly trained on company health, safety and environment policy and proactively promote health and safety considerations to project partners throughout the project lifecycle from tendering to closure.
- In conjunction with Supply Chain Management function, ensure that sub-contractors on site hired by Linxon perform to contractual requirements, including necessary quality and schedule progress achieved to meet delivery date and agreed standards.
- Monitor the project cost for the project site work and actual spend against forecasts. Ensure that final cost estimates submitted by Site Managers are correct/accurate.
- Ensure all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, the document handling system is maintained, and latest revisions are used for the construction work on site.
- Ensure (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect reports within HR policies.
Experience, Education and other Required:
- Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Preferably from Substation or EPC background.
