Business Functional Specialist driving our data journey into the future
4 weeks ago
A normal workday for our business functional specialist will consist of working in cross collaboration with your team of data experts and business & system stakeholders ensuring the business requirements are translated properly into technical specifications to ensure sustainable delivery of data across the bank.
Are you a Competent Business Functional Specialist (Business Analyst) with solid data skills, with the ability to work with business stakeholders across the Bank? Does the prospect of consistent personal growth opportunities excite you? Do you enjoy seizing and solving data tasks, and providing business-critical insights through data? Then you might be our new colleague to join our new data journey team in Denmark.
The Personal Customers business unit in Danske Bank is standing in front of a large transformation spanning multiple areas across the business all of which are heavily reliant on a solid, sustainable and secure data foundation. This data foundation will be instrumental for the bank in reaching the strategic Forward'28 goals promised to the market in 2023 all meant to ensure a better banking experience and better banking products across all of our customers.
The Customer Engagement Individuals tribe exists with the customer at the centre of everything. The tribe has ownership of key customer-facing systems spanning across Danske Bank's channels and capabilities. The Tribe consists of a wide range of profiles (Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Business Functional Specialists, Architects, UI/UX Designers, and much more) and nationalities (Nordics wide, Lithuania, Indian & more) which we leverage to ensure solutions are the best they can be for our customers.
You will be joining the Customer Engagement Individuals Tribe and gain approximately 140 colleagues where you will be a part of one of the data squads in charge of enabling the data across the Personal Customers domain and help enable Danske Bank to get ready for the next generation of banking services. This will first and foremost be achieved through the creation of the foundational data elements underpinning banking services on our scalable data platform. Data engineering will therefore be a significant enabler of the strategy and allow for commercial teams to develop data products and system owners to trust they receive high-quality data enabling their required downstream functionality.
What will you do?
As a Business & Functional Specialist you will be expected to:
- Work closely with business stakeholders, systems & data owners ensuring prioritised activities towards better customer experience.
- Take on responsibilities of translating business logic and business functionality into data specification for sustainable golden source logic.
- Collaborate across the bank with both technical and non-technical people to help drive the bank-wide data agenda towards the Forward'28 strategy.
- Help downstream stakeholders achieve their business value by enabling data availability together with the team.
- Ensure thorough and coherent documentation and compliance across subject area.
- Participate in the transformation of Danske Bank's retail customer area to achieve goals set out in the Forward'28 strategy.
- Be expected to continuously learn and grow in the role and strive to deliver the best experience for our customers.
- Help ensure alignment to the bank's regulatory, governance & security frameworks to ensure E2E compliant, accessible & secure data.
As a Data enthusiast you are passionate about solving problems
We are looking for a mix of enthusiasm, knowledge, willingness to share and deeply understand data flows and structures, with problem-solving skills. Furthermore, you have:
- Bachelor's degree or higher within Business, Natural/Life Sciences, Engineering or similar.
- +3 years experience as Business Analyst, Business Functional Specialist or similar roles.
- Experience with security, compliance, risk & general financial services data are a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills as well as fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong collaboration and facilitation are a must.
- Proficiencies in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, etc.) are a plus.
- You are analytical thinking & adaptable in uncertain and changing business environments.
- You are strategic thinking and strong organisational understanding is key.
- You are based in Denmark, as we do not offer a re-location package.
What are you waiting for?
This is an exciting job, where the form of collaboration is characterised by a high degree of responsibility, trust, and helpfulness. It is an opportunity to work with committed and skilled colleagues with the room to experiment and grow together as a team - and to learn and grow personally and professionally.
We will collect applications and run interviews continuously when possible, starting in September 2024. If you have any questions, please reach out to Hiring Manager, Michael Friis Bak, Chapter Lead (mras@danskebank.dk) or Mikkel Winther, Chief Customer Journey Architect, (mikkelw@danskebank.dk).
