Principal Scientist for in vitro Drug-Drug interaction studies in the Department of Drug Metabolism
Do you have a passion for in vitro Drug-Drug interaction (DDI) studies and like to develop PBPK models to evaluate the DDI risk in humans? Do you thrive with scientific challenges? Then you may be our new colleague.
Your new role
You will be responsible for evaluating the DDI risk of Lundbeck development compounds, which includes close collaboration with our colleagues in Clinical Pharmacology. As a part of your job, you will also be responsible for the planning, conducting and reporting of in vitro DDI studies as well as PBPK modelling and simulation. Thus, you will be managing studies such as enzyme reaction phenotyping, enzyme inhibition, enzyme induction, transporter inhibition, transporter substrate evaluations as well as mechanistic studies. As an important part of your work, you will work in close collaboration with Contract Research Organisations (CROs), who are performing studies on behalf of Lundbeck. Furthermore, you will be responsible for studies performed in our laboratories and in that role be sparring and guiding our technicians. Moreover, you will represent the DDI group in project teams ensuring progress of our innovative and promising pipeline. In addition, you will be driving the science within the DDI group together with your colleagues.
Your future team
The Department of Drug Metabolism is part of the Drug ADME Research Division within Non-Clinical Safety Research. Non-Clinical Safety Research is responsible for the safety evaluation of novel drug candidates for the treatment of diseases within the central nervous system. The Department of Drug Metabolism is responsible for providing non-clinical and human ADME data, and data on drug-drug interaction potential for worldwide registration of new innovative medicines. We are a group of 13 scientists and technicians in total divided into two teams (Drug-drug interaction and Metabolism). Our team is based in Valby, Copenhagen, and we pride ourselves on fostering scientific excellence, a collaborative, supportive, and friendly work environment. We believe in open communication, continuous learning, and celebrating our successes together.
What you bring to the team
Our preferred candidate:
- Holds a PhD in biochemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering or equivalent
- Has experience within and thorough understanding of enzymology of major drug metabolizing enzymes, inhibition kinetics and design of in vitro DDI studies
- Has experience within and thorough understanding of drug transporters
- Has hands-on experience with in vitro DDI assays and experience with LC-MS
- Experience with PBPK modelling and simulations would be an advantage
- Has experience with DDI guidelines and preparation of regulatory summary documents (i.e. IB, IND, CTD)
- Experience from pharmaceutical industry
- Has focus on delivering high quality data in due time and is result-oriented
- Is enthusiastic, ambitious, proactive and a true team player
- Has good communication skills and is fluent in English.
