Student Assistant to support literature review on marine and coastal nature-based solutions – DTU Aqua

We are looking for an independent student to aid us complete a literature review over the next five months.
The job
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student Assistant to support our ongoing EU research and innovation project (Transeation) related to nature-based solutions in marine and coastal environments. The project aims at developing environmental minimum requirements in relation to e.g. biodiversity which future marine NbS should align with to ensure the effectiveness and integrity of NbS. This position offers an excellent opportunity to get practical experience in literature review, and the application of environmental science principles.
You will be employed in DTU Aqua’s section for Public Consultancy in Lyngby, working in the team coordinating the institute’s role in the Transeation project.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting a literature review on both research and policy to help identify the minimum requirements for nature-based solutions and blue-grey infrastructure
- Assist in organizing and summarizing research findings in Excel
- Help team members on various administrative aspects of the project
- Support the preparation of reports and presentations
- Help with administrative tasks for meetings and discussions preparation
Our expectations of you
We are looking for a student who is:
- a student (e.g., Ocean engineering, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Ecology, Natural Resource Management or related fields).
- interest in ecosystem-based management, and/or nature-based solutions and marine/coastal infrastructure
- analytical skills and ability to think critically
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Have good organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Have a good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- If possible, also experience with literature review methodology and software, but it is not a requirement.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the multi-union collective agreement for the Organisations of Public Employees—Denmark (State) (OAO-S) and the trade union agreement for clerical staff etc. (HK/State).
Working hours are on average 7 hours per week and can be organized flexibly in relation to holidays, exams, etc. Starting date is 1 March 2025 (or according to mutual agreement). The employment runs for four months.
The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
