We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Lead to lead our enterprise data governance approach and be a people leader for our Data Strategy & Governance Chapter.

As Data Governance Lead, you will craft a cohesive vision for the future of data governance at Ramboll, develop, implement and maintain our data governance framework, policies, and ways of working.
As the Chapter Lead, you will lead a small team (4), develop talent, and facilitate delivery whilst ensuring that the initiatives executed are of high value to Ramboll's business.

The ideal candidate will have experience in successfully rolling out data governance initiatives in large, data-rich organizations and a passion for data and pragmatic solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Data governance execution:

  • Own the development, implementation, and maintenance of our data governance framework, policies, and ways of working.
  • Collaborate closely to shape the relevant aspects of Ramboll's overall data strategy, and own the delivery of data governance initiatives set.
  • Support our iterative approach to delivering data improvements and ensuring that future endeavors support business priorities.
  • Lead greenfield data ownership and stewardship initiatives, promoting a culture of data accountability and responsibility.
  • Support Data & AI literacy and adoption initiatives.
  • Mentor, coach, and grow the careers of team members within the Data Governance Chapter, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development.
  • Oversee performance evaluations of chapter members, focusing on career development and coaching.
  • Ensure all members of the chapter have clear goals and professional development plans.

Lead technical chapter expertise:

  • Work with the following personas on a technical level: Data and AI Product Owners, Data Architects, Business Integrity Managers, Cloud Engineers, Agile Coaches/Scrum Masters, Subject Matter Experts, Business Analysts, and other Ramboll Tech Chapter Leads.
  • Translate data governance concepts and best practices into tangible examples for stakeholders.
  • Set enterprise-wide best practice for data governance, in collaboration with relevant experts.
  • Understand the relationship between data governance and data quality, and set a pragmatic, flexible approach on how we can tackle data quality issues.
  • Act as a liaison between the Data Governance Chapter and various teams, both in and outside of Ramboll Tech, ensuring chapter alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams by partnering with Product Owners/team leads to implement and optimize workflows that integrate seamlessly with the teams' objectives.

HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED IN YOUR ROLE

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance focused roles.
  • Experience in managing hybrid, Agile teams.
  • Experience in successfully rolling out enterprise-wide data governance initiatives.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies, particularly Azure.

Skills:

  • You are a data governance expert and understand the value it brings to Ramboll's business.
  • You have experience with DAMA Data Management Framework.
  • You have a proven ability to lead and mentor analysts, focusing on the growth and development of the team.

  • You have strong relationship-building skills, exceptional communication skills, and can convey complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You have strong intercultural awareness and experience managing remote global teams.

  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You enjoy teamwork and support colleagues in learning from you.
  • You are fluent in English.

We encourage you to apply even if your profile does not meet all the requirements for the role. We are looking for a diverse range of experiences, skills, and interests to enrich our team.

WHAT DEFINES US: CURIOSITY, OPTIMISM, AMBITION, EMPATHY

Our team at Ramboll Tech is currently on a steep growth trajectory while maintaining a strong team culture.

  • We are curious about other people and their motivations; about new business models and technologies; about each other and the future.
  • We are optimistic, focusing on solutions rather than problems; we plan for success and are willing to take calculated risks instead of playing it safe.
  • We are ambitious, setting our own standards higher than others' expectations, and we celebrate each other's successes.
  • We are empathetic, taking ourselves, others, and each other seriously without prejudgment, and we help each other and our clients, colleagues, and the world.

HOW WE WORK AS A TEAM

Our team culture is crucial to us; that's why we take time daily to exchange ideas and discuss our work priorities. We support each other when facing challenges and foster a strong team spirit. We aim to learn and grow continuously from one another. We value diversity, and although we're not perfect, we regularly engage in open discussions about how we can improve in this area.

Our current hybrid work approach focuses on adapting to different needs, including increased flexibility that works best for our global teams and individuals, with as much autonomy as possible.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • We don't require a cover letter—just send us your current CV (preferably without a photo) through our application tool, and we're eager to get to know you better in a conversation.
