What will your day look like?
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our privacy program. You will be hands-on and provide expert advice to stakeholders and fostering a culture of data protection awareness across the business. You'll be the go-to expert and ensure that we meet all regulations. You will also play an important part in our legal function. More specifically, your tasks include:
Data Protection:
- Prepare and execute the annual GDPR plan, including policy reviews, controls implementation, maintaining records of processing activities, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining process mapping.
- Drive data protection and information security processes and facilitate internal audits to ensure compliance with group policies and controls.
- Develop, refine, and monitor current processes to enhance data protection measures across the organization.
- Advise stakeholders in designing, deploying, and managing technology and process solutions to reduce the potential of data compromise.
- Conduct Data Protection training and awareness programs for employees at all levels.
Legal:
- Assess and mitigate legal risks.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to the business on data protection, IT projects, e-privacy, e-commerce, and marketing law.
- Review and draft commercial contracts, incl. data processing agreements.
- Work with and advise client and project teams on an ad-hoc basis.
Who are you going to work with?
At VML MAP headquarters in Copenhagen, you will be part of the Finance and Legal team as the privacy function. You will report to our Head of Legal and collaborate closely with our IT-security function as well as WPP’s global privacy team. As our Privacy Consultant and a legal advisor, you will work closely with client and project teams across the organisation.
What do you bring to the table?
Education and Experience:
- Law school/university degree in law or business law (LL.M or a corresponding degree).
- +3 years of post-graduate experience from in-house or private practice within data protection and relevant legal fields.
- Proven experience working with data protection, existing and emerging technology (bonus if within AdTech), digitalization, and consumer protection.
- Experience with commercial law and contract drafting.
- (Bonus if) Obtained Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Management (CIPM).
Skills:
- Strong understanding of technology.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to integrate complex legal concepts in the business in cooperation with different stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent English and Danish skills.
