Sustainable Procurement and Supplier Engagement Manager

Are you passionate about leveraging procurement power to drive real environmental and social change? At Lundbeck, we are not just talking about sustainability – we are working on embedding it into every aspect of our supply chain. This is why we need a visionary and execution-focused leader to spearhead this work. You will shape the future of sustainable business practices within Lundbeck's supply chain and contribute to advancing brain health and transforming lives.

Your new role

This isn't just another sustainability role – it is your opportunity to create measurable positive wide-ranging impact across a global pharmaceutical company focused on brain health. As our future Sustainable Procurement and Supplier Engagement Manager, you'll lead the efforts that influence our Scope 3 decarbonization ambitions and build meaningful and mutually beneficial partnerships with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to a healthier planet and society. In the process, you will collaborate with decision-makers across the Lundbeck organization to transform how we source, procure and engage with suppliers and partners to meet ambitious environmental goals, while also advancing human rights and ethical standards.

More concretely, you will (and this is only a slice of the overall scope):

  • Develop and put into action a sustainable procurement strategy, including supplier engagement frameworks, ESG integration, and decarbonization initiatives.
  • Oversee the development of policies, metrics, and standards for responsible sourcing practices.
  • Lead supplier sustainability engagement programs, focusing on climate action as well as environmental and social performance improvements.
  • Design and implement supplier recognition programs to incentivize sustainability excellence.
  • Oversee sustainability impact and risk assessment and due diligence processes across the supply chain.
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with current regulations as well as actively contribute to readiness on emerging ones.
  • Oversee the continuous improvement of Scope 3 emissions data quality and collection processes at suppliers.
  • Represent Lundbeck in industry forums and sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on sustainable procurement practices.

Does the above sound like a challenging and fulfilling opportunity? Are you ready to put your sustainability and business expertise into action and lead initiatives that resonate within and far beyond our organization? We want to hear from you

Your future team

The role of Sustainable Procurement and Supplier Engagement Manager sits within the Procurement Excellence function of Lundbeck's Corporate Procurement and has a reporting line to Head of Procurement Excellence. Corporate Procurement reports to the CFO, which is why we are focused on data, insights and execution.

The Procurement Excellence team will be 7-8 people at full strength, split roughly in half between Valby, Denmark (HQ) and Krakow, Poland (GBS). Our key focus areas are Source to Pay global process ownership, Business insights and data management, Procurement sustainability, and Governance.

Our culture can be described as one where curiosity is "table stakes", adaptability is a requirement (in view of how fast and unpredictably the world around us is changing) and accountability is part of who we are and what we do. When you join the team, you are going to be the "adult in the room" from day one, but you will also be able to count on the collective knowledge and insights of the whole organization. We are doing our best to work cross-functionally and deliver outcomes that have an end-to-end impact.

What you bring to the team

There is never a perfect or right background. It all depends on the person and his/her curiosity, drive, integrity, adaptability, etc. However, we believe that the below-listed qualifications and experiences will set a candidate apart:

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in consulting, procurement, supply chain management, sustainability, or a similar field.
  • Deep understanding of sustainability frameworks, standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Scope 3 emissions accounting and reduction strategies.
  • Knowledge of supplier assessment methodologies, including impact assessment in the areas of human and labor rights.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Solid project management and program development skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.

Our promise to you

Lundbeck offers an inspiring workplace and innovative culture, where our curiosity, accountability and adaptability enable us to transform lives. We want to go faster and further on addressing the big unmet needs of people living with brain disorders. We offer rewarding careers with a mix of exciting tasks and development opportunities that are balanced with initiatives focused on your well-being.

Can you see yourself in this role? We want to hear from you. Does this sound like your dream job, but you're not sure if you meet all the requirements? We still want to hear from you

Upload your CV and include a few lines about your motivation for applying. We ask you not to include a photo or personal information that does not relate to your professional experience.

If you have questions, please contact Yuri Hembitski, Head of Procurement Excellence on +45 3077 1481.

Applications must be received by March 23rd 2025, but please apply early, as we will be reviewing them ongoing.
