Lead Inventory Success Across Global Retail Locations
The Manager, Inventory Strategy is responsible for optimizing stock levels on all collections across multiple retail locations by setting key collection parameters such as Weeks of Coverage (WOC) and Display Settings. The role also requires managing Distribution Center (DC) constraints during shipment peak weeks and that inventory levels support overall sales and visual merchandising goals. This position will work closely with merchandising, supply chain, allocation and store operations to balance inventory availability with demand, store capacity, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team leadership:
- Lead the Inventory Planning team on key initiatives and improvement areas as well as personal development areas.
- Collection Parameter Setting:
- Define and maintain Weeks of Coverage (WOC) and display settings to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with visual merchandising teams to align inventory with display requirements.
- Work with merchandising teams to optimize assortment planning based on local demand and store capacity.
- Replenishment and Allocation:
- Plan for seasonal inventory adjustments and align with promotional calendars.
- Distribution Center Management:
- Manage inventory flow during peak shipment weeks, addressing distribution center (DC) constraints.
- Coordinate shipments and develop contingency plans for high-demand periods.
- Store Openings:
- Plan and execute inventory strategies for new store openings, ensuring the right products are available from day one.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor key metrics such as WOC and on-shelf availability (OSA%), adjusting strategies based on performance data.
- Prepare and present reports on inventory levels, replenishment effectiveness, and new store performance.
- Collaboration and Optimization:
- Work closely with allocation, merchandising, supply chain, and logistics teams to align inventory plans with business goals.
- Continuously improve inventory management processes and leverage forecasting tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Finance, or Economics.
- 7+ years of experience in inventory planning, merchandising planning, or similar. Experience in retail is highly preferred.
- Experience from a global organization.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint); experience with Aptean/Aptos or similar planning systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English.
