Our AI Team is part of Vestas' Digital Solutions organization set to drive the end-to-end digitalization of Vestas over the coming years. We co-build with product teams within and beyond Digital Solutions to leverage cross-functional competences for impactful ML solution delivery. In addition, as an integral part of our Data Platform team we strive to mature our platform capabilities, shape our MLOps framework, and ensure the scalability of our data science platforms and ML tool stack.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will collaborate with senior team members, business leaders, subject matter experts, data scientists, and data engineers across the organization to develop impactful NLP/GenAI-based solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to validating and conducting technical feasibility assessments of high-impact AI use cases
- Work with cross-functional product teams to develop and productize NLP/GenAI components, driving and accelerating business value capture across Vestas' value chain
- Assist in the development of methods, solution architectures, and best practices that can scale machine learning across the organization
- Contribute to the maturation of our ML platforms and the data science tool stack
- Act as a bridge builder between data product teams and the AI team to help mature and consolidate data science best practices
This role is ideal for you if you have a solid understanding of NLP methods, have explored the GenAI space, and possess the applied ML skills necessary to drive AI solutions from concept to production. With 1-3 years of experience in an applied or enterprise setting, you are eager to broaden and deepen your skills.
We are looking for many or most of the following qualifications and competencies:
- 1-3 years of experience in developing and/or deploying NLP/GenAI models, ideally with tangible applications in a corporate context and MSc in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or relevant
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch) and NLP/GenAI tools (e.g., NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, LlamaIndex)
- Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and GenAI use cases, for example fine-tuning vs. prompt engineering, evaluating LLM performance, and addressing issues like hallucinations
- Hands-on experience in cloud design and implementation (especially Azure), CI/CD deployment, and modern build, test, and deployment tools, or a strong motivation to learn these skills
- Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and containerization using Docker, or a strong motivation to learn
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with both business and technology teams
- Fluent spoken and written English is essential
We are seeking a motivated person who can take initiative and bring technical projects to life. Your enthusiasm, drive, and sense of responsibility should be evident as you work with others to achieve shared goals. This role is ideal for someone who is always learning, keeps up with the latest developments in NLP/GenAI, and enjoys exploring and creating with new technologies.
What We Offer
Purpose. An opportunity to impact climate change and the future of next generations through data, machine learning, and cloud engineering.
Steep learning curve. You will be joining a strong team of senior data scientists and ML engineers with both broad and deep knowledge. That means that you will have somebody to learn from, just as we will invest in continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and upskilling.
Good relationships. We will strive to build an informal environment of mutual trust and a tightly knit team, where we can support and inspire each other to deliver great impact for Vestas.
Opportunity to shape your role. We have been asked to scale and anchor the impact of AI & ML across Vestas. The rest is up to us.
Healthy work-life balance, with flexible working options. We want the best for the role and the positions can be in our head quarter in Aarhus or in Copenhagen.
Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive and bring their unique perspectives and skills to the team.
Overall, we will work hard to make sure that once you have joined us, you don't want to leave us again.

This role can be based either in Aarhus or Copenhagen, Denmark. If you are based in Copenhagen, some travel to Aarhus is to be expected. We do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to the advertised closing date. Please be advised to apply on or before 1st October 2024.
