job requisition id JR103862

Are you ready for a new beginning?

We need your talent, knowledge and dedication to better our world with biology.

Our purpose points the way

In Novonesis, we know that solutions rooted in biology can help solve humanity’s biggest challenges. Since we began more than a century ago, this has been our guide. It’s how we've gotten so far. And it’s how we'll impact the future. Now, more than ever, the world needs change. And with biosolutions, the possibilities for transformation are endless.

We’re here to better our world with biology.

Join us as our new Research Scientist

In Product and Process Development, we have the responsibility to make the products and processes for our worldwide production sites. You will be in a cross-functional agile team (with members of fermentation, recovery, and formulation departments) with a primary focus to create new BioSolutions that excite our customers, including enzymes and advanced proteins. Your role will be to develop liquid enzyme/protein formulations and design new product formats, using existing or new technologies.

To succeed you will combine insights of enzyme/protein processing with protein stabilization, and together with your agile team, you will select the optimal solutions both for customer value and product quality. You will be in direct contact with our colleagues in marketing, production, pilot plants, application, and R&D departments in Novonesis as well as external customers. You will drive results on your own and together with other highly skilled scientists and lab technicians.

Welcome to Liquid Products Development & Innovation (LPDi)

We are part of Formulation Development, where we are responsible for the development of enzyme and other protein products and production processes, upscaling of new products and technologies, as well as supporting and improving our existing product range. In LPDi, we are a team of highly engaged, multicultural scientists, with a passion for enzyme/protein formulation and product innovation. We cooperate with many of Novonesis’ functions locally and internationally.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

  1. Developing and optimizing formulations with focus on quality, stability and optimal format for the final commercial products.
  2. Working independently as well as taking the responsibility as project leader and as a team player, contributing to a high performing cross-functional Agile Team.
  3. Supporting customers, doing production troubleshooting and scaling up to our global production plants.
  4. Improving the way we work, for example by introducing new instruments or analytical methods, and by taking advantage of digitalization and automation.

To succeed you must:

  1. Hold a Master’s degree or PhD in chemical/biochemical engineering or related field, such as (bio)chemistry or food science and technology.
  2. Experience within protein stability and formulation is an advantage.
  3. Experience with development of analytical methods, data-driven decision making and familiarity with programming are further advantages.
  4. Enjoy project management and taking a role as project leader.
  5. Have experience with planning and executing experiments and enjoy day-to-day collaboration with laboratory technicians.

Location:

This job is located in Bagsvaerd, Copenhagen, Denmark. In this job role, it will be a benefit to be mostly physically present in Bagsværd, but there is some flexibility to work partly from home.

Application deadline: 5th of January, 2025.

Contact details: Albert E. Cervera-Padrell, Head of Liquid Products Development and Innovation,
