Data and AI is the central organisation within Schibsted Media that is responsible for its data platform, and builds data and AI products with emphasis on volume, velocity and privacy that serve the whole of Schibsted Media and its brands.
AI Services is a team within Data&AI that is currently responsible for developing and maintaining machine learning models that are empowering many use cases in Schibsted such as: producing insights and analytics about our customers, segments for the online advertising on our sites and personalization of news. We are working with big amounts of data from newspapers (like VG, Aftenposten, Aftonbladet, Bergens Tidene) and we are also looking for new ways to enhance user experience by adding new capabilities to our portfolio, which include working with content data and other exciting opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced ML Engineer , who is independent, goal oriented and loves working with Big Data. We practise a product-oriented mindset, so you will be working alongside the product management team to find the best solutions to meet the needs of our internal stakeholders.
What you will do:
- Contribute to analysis, design, building, training, evaluation, shipping and refinement of ML-driven products to solve real-world problems
- Collaborate closely with a cross-functional agile team spanning data science, product management, and engineering to build prototypes as well as production-ready solutions
- Engage with internal stakeholders and end-users to better understand their needs, as well as explain, educate, and support them in ML matters
- Provide guidance to more junior team members
What is our technology stack?
- Data Processing: Luigi/Spark/Scala -> Flyte/PySpark/Python. We are currently in the process of migration, consider the latter to be the future, however you might be required to work with some of the older pipelines before they are migrated
- Machine Learning: Tensorflow, Pytorch
- Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes as a main platform for both processing and services, AWS as cloud provider (S3, EKS)
Job requirements
- You have at least a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or any quantitative field
- 3+ years of related industry experience in the data science domain and a deep understanding of AI and machine learning methods and algorithms
- You have great communication skills, can communicate complex concepts in a simple way, and articulate solutions to other team members and non-technical people
- Solid knowledge of Python with the ability to write performant production-quality code, other programming languages are a bonus
- Experience working with Pandas, Transformers and Tensorflow/Keras or Pytorch
- Experience working with Spark, Databricks or other big data technologies
- Experience working with Kubernetes and AWS (or any other cloud provider)
