Rosendahl Design Group (RDG) was originally founded in 1984 by Erik Rosendahl. From the beginning, the vision was to create design products that combined aesthetics and functionality. Initially, the company operated as a distributor of exclusive design products, but the ambition to create their own design classics soon led to collaborations with some of Denmark’s most talented designers.

RDG’s mission is to preserve and develop the Danish design traditions and make them accessible to the many. In connection with receiving B-Corp Certification in 2023, RDG has also defined its social ambition to responsibly bring Danish design traditions into the future.

Today, RDG is a Danish multi-brand house that brings together eight iconic Danish brands, designed for the wear and tear of everyday life and the charm of life’s special occasions. Brands which we are all familiar with, like Rosendahl, Holmegaard, Kaj Bojesen, Arne Jacobsen Clocks and Lyngby Porcelæn.

VP, Global Sales

Are you an experienced leader who can drive change and create growth? Then you might be Rosendahl’s new VP, Global Sales.

Rosendahl Design Group (RDG) has been running a successful business since 1984 and experienced a significant increase in revenue during the corona period. However, the company has faced challenges in the last two years with losses and many changes. The strategy is in place, a transformation is needed, and focus is on profitable growth. RDG has replaced its CEO; the former CFO is now CEO and will lead RDG into the future. To support the strategy, RDG has just recruited a strong VP, Supply Chain to drive the changes within the supply chain, and RDG now wants to hire a new VP, Global Sales. The focus of the new VP, Global Sales is on profitable growth and to lead and motivate the team, grow the business outside of Scandinavia and at the same time secure market shares in Scandinavia. Last, but not least, the VP, Global Sales must set up the right business model within Sales to support the market in the future.

You will refer to the CEO and be part of the management team. You will be responsible for the strategy and execution of Global Sales based out of the Hørsholm office in Denmark. Furthermore, you will be responsible for approximately 30 employees and the sales office in Norway as well as employees in Sweden and Germany.

Additionally, you will be responsible for distribution via agents and distributors.

Some of your primary tasks will be:

  • Overall responsibility for setting the framework for Global Sales.
  • Communicate and set a clear direction and create followership.
  • Establish and execute Channel & Market Strategy for RDG's eight brands.
  • Lead the team and ensure that competencies and motivation are continuously developed and adapted to create the necessary futureproofing.
  • In close cooperation with Key Account Managers, establish business plans with major customers and ensure a more strategic, long-term, modern, and digital approach to sales. This also includes providing input and sparring for trade marketing activities.
  • Act as a role model for the team, demonstrating strong collaboration skills, leading as a culture bearer, and truly driving the change project. Ensure fruitful collaboration with key stakeholders in Planning, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Service. S&OP is a new discipline after years of challenged supply chains, and the VP must lead its implementation as a discipline in Sales. The VP must also ensure strong cooperation with Marketing to optimize ROI on trade marketing.
  • Build relationships with the largest customers and participate in major customer events, trade fairs, 3 Days of Design, etc.

To sum up, the focus of the new VP, Global Sales is to lead and motivate the team, secure market share in Scandinavia, and grow the business outside of Scandinavia. Lastly, to set up the right business model within Sales which can support the market in the future.

Your background:
RDG is looking for a candidate with strong leadership and people management skills. An experienced leader who ensures and develops the right competencies across functions and acts as an ambassador for the value of cross-functional work in RDG. You have experience in both leading employees and managing managers and the ability to motivate and drive changes. Preferably, you have a relevant commercial education e.g. cand.merc. and 10+ years of experience from a similar role as a CSO/CCO/VP, Sales in a company similar to RDG, but this is not a must. It is important though that you have a background working with chain structure and annual contract negotiations.

Furthermore, you have great business understanding and understanding of coherence in KPI’s as well as their weighting and significance, natural use of facts and figures in daily management. You are experienced with GTM strategies and subsequent execution and have a solid background and experience from both wholesale and retail, and an understanding of the importance and requirements of omnichannel.

Finally, you speak English fluently and are used to working internationally and building up markets outside Denmark.
