Manager, Vendor Alliances and Capability Building

The position
As head of Vendor Alliances and Capability Building you will along with 6 dedicated employees, play an important role in building up our internal capability center focused on designing and implementing employee development initiatives to improve employee skills, knowledge and expertise. As head of our Vendor Alliance team you will take Supplier Relationship Management to the next level embedding it across our category teams while taking lead on developing our most strategic indirect vendors.

Key responsibilities in the role include:

  1. Together with our Alliance Managers, develop and execute a vendor alliance strategy to drive value, innovation, and foster strategic collaboration with key suppliers, ensuring an optimized ROI from these key relationships.
  2. Create and embed a Supplier Relationship Management framework within Category Management teams to identify, evaluate and build strong partnerships with critical suppliers.
  3. Develop and implement a comprehensive capability building strategy aligned with Procurement's long-term goals, including the development and maintenance of a global procurement academy and talent management program.
  4. Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of training programs on employee performance, recommending improvements and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify gaps and further professionalize training programs.
  5. Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities to enhance employee skills and knowledge, working closely with our global procurement peers.

You will collaborate with numerous stakeholders at various levels of the organization, both within Corporate Procurement and across Novo Nordisk.

You will be part of the Procurement Excellence Management team, reporting directly to the VP of Procurement Excellence, and contribute to set the overall strategic direction for this area.

Qualifications
Our ideal candidate holds a relevant educational degree minimum at Bachelor level in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Economics etc., and has minimum 10 years of relevant working experience, preferably within Capability Building and/or Vendor Relations Building, including 3 years in leadership.

Other success criteria are:

  1. Experience in successfully developing and managing different functions under one, along with ability to unite and motivate a team.
  2. Strong insight of Vendor Relationship concepts including Supplier Relationship Management and Alliances handling and a track record of having worked with this in a global context is a strong advantage.
  3. Experience in working with shared service centers and building up a Capability Building function is a strong advantage.
  4. Experience handling strategic suppliers in a complex stakeholder environment.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

On a personal level, you have exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with ability to work with people at different levels in the organization and in an international context.
