Job Description


Title: Medical Advisor Hematology

Department: Medical Affairs, AbbVie

Reports to: Head of Medical Affairs Oncology Scandinavia, AbbVie

Location: Denmark

Summary:

We are looking for a Medical Advisor who will work with our lymphoid portfolio in hematology. The candidate will represent the affiliate’s medical/scientific voice of expertise for assigned product(s) in hematology with a local and Scandinavian scope.

Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and maintain professional relationships with experts and academic centers; attend scientific congresses, arrange advisory groups, discussion forums and symposia.
  2. Deliver scientific presentations and medical education to health professionals.
  3. Prepare scientific/medical information on request.
  4. Review and approval of advertising material, ensuring that medical/scientific content is correct and in accordance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
  5. Be a medical expert in the cross-functional teams, providing medical/scientific input to medical affairs strategies, marketing strategy and commercial initiatives.
  6. Assist in initiating, supervising and following up clinical trials and medical projects.
  7. Design and implement clinical research projects; e.g. Phase IV, observational, registry and epidemiological studies.
  8. Prepare insights and assist in preparation of upcoming HTA dossiers.

Qualifications


Ideal candidate:

  1. PhD, PharmD, MD, M.Sc. or equivalent.
  2. Experience in oncology/hematology is an advantage.
  3. Clinical experience and solid research experience (PhD) is an advantage.
  4. Keen interest in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product and in medical research in general.
  5. Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
  6. Fluency in written and oral English is highly desirable to facilitate communications between the affiliate medical department, Regional and International Medical Affairs and other AbbVie functional staff.
  7. High customer orientation.
  8. Strong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures, and to scientific quality and integrity.
  9. Collaborative, team-oriented approach, able to develop and support relationships across the organization as well as with key external stakeholders and the healthcare community at large.
  10. Sound judgment, strong planning and organizational skills, and the ability to get things done.
  11. Flexible and able to deal with ambiguity.
