Do you want to join our talented software team and be a part of developing software for Weibel’s advanced Doppler radars?
At Weibel we develop Doppler radars. Our radars are highly advanced precision instruments used by our customers for real-time measurement and acquisition of data from multiple airborne targets. Our radars are used by space agencies, governments, and defence contractors. We are the best in our field and software is an important enabler for our continuous success.
Our team consists of software architects and developers. Our responsibility is to develop and maintain Weibels customer facing software, while working closely together with our sister departments (algorithm, processing and embedded) to release complete software bundles. We take the agile approach to project planning and execution, and we use DevOps on a wide scale to support our daily work.
The team has extensive self-governance meaning it is the team that design and implement the solutions but at the same time are responsible for quality and deadlines. We have a user centric mind-set that enables us to keep track of details while ensuring that the end-user is provided with an intuitive and easily accessible solution.
Our main goal is to keep our software up to date so that it supports the real-time and post-processing needs of our customers. We constantly work to improve the quality of our software and test procedures, which is key to timely delivery of all the ground-breaking new radar features that we are adding to our systems.
Your primary tasks will be to:
- Manage the test process
- Plan tests
- Engage with colleagues to ensure readiness of all software components
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure availability of test equipment
- Execute tests
- Register and report issues
- Document test outcome
- Optimize test procedures and processes
- Improve test coverage
Our technical environment consists of Windows and Linux applications covering front-end and back-end functionality and embedded software that interacts with the antennas and mechanics of the radar.
Experience across software test in industrial applications
We are looking for a skilled software test engineer with a proven track record in planning, managing, executing, and improving test of complex software. You have experience with test of software that interacts with physical equipment in industrial applications and a background in engineering and software development. You are passionate about technology and motivated by the opportunity to execute as well as improve test processes.
Your professional CV comprises:
- Background in software development for industrial applications (preferably C++ or C#)
- Experience with development and execution of software test in industrial applications.
- Experience with DevOps and agile project management.
- Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence
- Good communication skills in English both written and spoken.
We expect you to have a technical background in software development for engineering, but we do not expect you to have radar knowledge. The most important thing is that you are motivated for a steep learning curve, we have a tailored introduction ready for you.
Your new team
We are currently 13 developers in our team and part of the overall software group in Weibel where are approximately 60 highly skilled professionals who have diverse backgrounds in computer science, engineering, mathematics, and physics. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do to ensure a seamless transition from design to deployment of our software and algorithms.
