At Nordea, we are committed to protecting our customers and the financial system, and we are now looking for a talented and driven expert in data management to join us in the Financial Crime Intelligence, Investigation and Analytics (FCIIA).
This is a unique opportunity to grow and develop in a dynamic environment shaped by innovation, digitalization, and the pursuit of a safer, more sustainable financial system. Join us and make your expertise matter
About this opportunity
The Data Management, Data Quality, and Operations team within the Group Financial Crime Prevention is a multicultural, collaborative, and solution-driven team that bridges the gap between business and technology functions. We work with experts from diverse technical backgrounds to tackle complex challenges, enhance data quality, and optimize operations, all while driving innovative solutions to prevent financial crime. If you're passionate about problem-solving, taking ownership and working in a collaborative team, and are eager to make an impact in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment, this is the role for you.
What you'll be doing
As the Senior Data Expert, you will play a key role in establishing proper data management and governance frameworks and practices for FCIIA. Your primary focus will be on the disciplines of data management and data quality management, ensuring that our data is reliable, accurate and a true asset for the business. You will help us ensure our data can drive business decisions, financial crime investigations and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead and implement best practices for Data Management and Governance across the bank's data landscape, ensuring alignment with financial crime prevention strategic objectives.
- Drive initiatives to integrate effective Data Management and Governance practices into business processes, ensuring data is accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose in combating financial crime.
- Define, implement, and enforce standards, principles, and procedures for Data Quality Management, with a focus on continuous improvement to support the detection and prevention of financial crime.
- Develop and oversee processes for Data Quality Incident Management and Analysis, ensuring swift resolution and incorporating lessons learned to strengthen future resilience.
- Guide Data Domain Owners, act as and support Data Stewards in defining, measuring, and reporting KPIs for Data Quality, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business goals.
- Collaborate with Data Domain Owners, Data Stewards, and legal teams to ensure compliance with data-related laws and regulations, including those pertaining to privacy, retention, and financial crime prevention.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, acting as a bridge between stakeholders, business users, IT teams, data owners, and data consumers to align needs and ensure seamless collaboration.
- Foster a culture of communication and teamwork to enhance understanding and application of Data Management and Data Quality Management principles within the financial crime prevention framework.
- Evaluate, design, configure, and implement tools and systems for effective Data Management and Data Quality, staying up to date on emerging technologies and solutions.
- Shape and contribute to the bank's long- and mid-term data strategy to ensure scalability, innovation, and alignment with objectives to mitigate financial crime.
Who you are
Your background and skills include:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Finance or other relevant fields.
- Proven experience in Data Management and Data Quality Management, preferably in contexts relevant to financial crime prevention.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset, with the ability to analyze, enhance, and optimize complex data processes critical to combating financial crime.
- Creativity and resilience in tackling challenges are highly valued.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication and collaboration, enabling effective teamwork across diverse groups, including business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead without formal authority are essential.
- Fluency in English, with outstanding communication and presentation skills crucial for explaining complex data concepts in a clear, inspiring, and impactful manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Office 365, Power BI, Qlik, or other reporting tools, is beneficial, but a proactive curiosity and openness to new ideas and technologies are what truly set you apart.
It would be ideal if your background also includes:
- Familiarity with frameworks such as CDMC.
