The University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Humanities, is looking for one machine learning engineer, starting as soon as possible. A new Centre for Digital and Computational Humanities has been recently established with the goal of fostering and supporting research across all the Faculty of Humanities.
The position is permanent and full time.
Job description
The Centre for Digital and Computational Humanities serves as a hub of expertise across the Faculty of Humanities on a range of techniques including software engineering, machine learning, data science, HPC, and large-scale data processing. Other activities include the provisioning and management of IT infrastructure, competency building, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The Centre aims to rapidly position itself at the forefront of the application of computational methods in the Humanities. The Centre maintains strong ties with other groups at the University, including the Center for Social Data Science and the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Department of Computer Science, and the Pioneer Centre for AI.

You will be guaranteed that a minimum of 20% of your time will be devoted to a project of your choice, in agreement with the head of the Centre and aligned with the Centre’s goals. You will have the possibility to author in code and data releases, and academic publications.
You will work closely together in a team consisting of three full-time senior members, which is expected to grow rapidly in the forthcoming years, and develop collaborations with other groups of developers at Faculty and University level.

- Experience with data processing and augmentation for machine learning;
- Experience with HPC and/or large-scale data processing.
Please consider applying even if you do not tick all the boxes: we fully expect you to learn new skills on the job as well.
