As Head of Credit Risk, you lead Energi Danmark's Credit Risk team, taking ownership of the credit risk framework, ensuring a structured and transparent approach to managing credit risk across energy trading, portfolio management, and B2B sales operations. You foster close collaboration with the business on credit risk-related topics.

You lead and elevate a team of credit risk professionals, strengthening expertise in both traditional credit assessment and counterparty risk within trading. By building clear policies and structured workflows, you create a predictable and well-documented credit approval process that supports commercial decisions without compromising risk management integrity.

You are hands-on in your leadership, working closely with sales teams, originators, and senior management to embed a risk-conscious culture while driving modernization and efficiency in how Energi Danmark approaches credit risk. Your key responsibilities can be summarized as follows:

  • Designing and implementing clear credit risk policies, guidelines, and approval processes to support sales and trading operations.
  • Strengthening the company's approach to counterparty credit risk in trading, introducing robust risk metrics and models.
  • Leading and developing a team of three credit risk professionals, ensuring their skills and expertise grow in line with business needs.
  • Improving collaboration with sales teams by implementing standardized and transparent credit risk assessments to support commercial decision-making.
  • Working closely with traders to assess and manage credit risk exposure related to energy trading counterparties.
  • Establishing quantitative credit risk measures to align with the company's risk appetite and strategic goals.
  • Ensuring risk policies are well-documented, shared, and adhered to across relevant stakeholders.
  • Acting as a key sparring partner for senior management and the CRO, providing insights and recommendations on credit risk matters.
  • Collaborating with finance, legal, and compliance to ensure effective risk management across the organization.

You will work closely with a broad range of stakeholders across the organization, ensuring that credit risk considerations are embedded into commercial and trading decisions while fostering a proactive risk culture.

We envision you hold the following profile to succeed:

  • A strong background in credit risk management, ideally from a 2nd line of defense risk management function in energy trading, banking, or a similar field.
  • Experience with both classical credit risk assessment and counterparty credit risk in trading.
  • Good understanding of credit risk models, metrics, and terms such as PD, LGD, CVA, DVA, and Expected Credit Loss, as well as credit risk mitigation instruments like PCGs, CSAs, and similar.
  • A hands-on mindset, ready to build structured processes and ensure they are implemented effectively across the organization.
  • Experience leading projects, teams, or key tasks, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement and operational improvements.
