Due to the increased need for our treatments, we are in the process of establishing a new site for high-volume manufacturing of a new medical device with multiple components and +50 multi-cavity injection moulding tools and injection moulding machines (IMM).

In FPMSAT (Finished Product Manufacturing Science and Technology), we are responsible for developing and specifying the injection moulding machines, equipment, tools, and processes. And this is where we need you

The position

As our new Senior Injection Moulding and Equipment Engineer, you will join the manufacturing development project team as an IMM expert, where you will be setting the direction for the injection moulding machines to be purchased for the new site. This includes integration towards box exchangers, robots, and IT systems for process control, data capture, and validation.

The key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Defining the Injection Moulding Machines (IMM) requirements and standards towards suppliers
  • Contributing to the strategic direction for equipment in the new site
  • Specifying interfaces between mould, equipment & cavity sensors
  • Specifying and purchasing auxiliary equipment
  • Support equipment data utilization related to process control and release

This position offers a high level of collaboration across the organization. You will work closely with our robot specialist and the technical lead of the project, as well as the tooling engineers developing the injection moulding tools.

Over time, your knowledge and experience will contribute to future device manufacturing development projects, and there are wide opportunities for professional development to either further deepen or broaden your skillset.

20-50 travel days per year are to be expected depending on the project phase (mostly within Europe).

Qualifications

On a personal level, you are a proactive and solution-oriented individual with a structured and analytical mindset. You thrive in collaborative environments, easily building strong relationships with stakeholders across functions. Your excellent communication skills enable you to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.

To be the right fit for this role you likely have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Automation, mechanical engineering, plastic engineering, or similar technical background.
  • Extensive experience with different brands of high-quality injection moulding machines such as Netstal, Engel, Arburg, and Demag.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the injection moulding industry either at a medical device manufacturer, equipment developer, or high-volume manufacturer (e.g., within components for food or consumer goods).
  • Experience driving purchasing and validation of new IMMs into a production facility or through maintenance or troubleshooting in running production.
  • Experience with injection moulding process development and a thorough understanding of the physics behind a high-quality process.
  • A systematic approach to documentation and preferably experienced within GMP and medical validation.
  • Experience in an international organization or consultant role, preferably in the medical industry.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English, while being proficient in Danish is considered a plus.

You will be joining a department with dedicated colleagues within plastic processing, tooling, metal & electronic components, and automation in Finished Product Manufacturing Science & Technology in Hillerød. We develop the equipment and processes that transform new Medical Device designs into actual products for our patients, bridging the gap between the development departments and the Injection Molding production sites.
