Contracts & Procurement Director, PtX Platform

Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) - a service provider working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for a Contracting & Procurement Director to join the Power-to-X Platform in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The role

We are leading the development and construction of Power-to-X (PtX) projects and Carbon Capture projects worldwide. As we enter a stage of high growth, we are building a deeply motivated, diverse, and skilled team committed to positively affect the planet. We seek a Contracting & Procurement Director to be responsible for all procurement, contract management and supplier related initiatives initially on our Carbon Capture projects in Denmark.

The position will be with direct reference to the Project Director and primarily based in our main office in Copenhagen, and traveling as required. We are organized in a balanced matrix organization where you will also refer to the functional manager of our Power-to-x Platforms Procurement & Contracting team and contribute to building our competences and learnings across projects.

The workload and travel activity will vary, and flexibility is therefore expected from both sides. We work in a dynamic environment with frequent changes, so a positive approach is valued. You will be given the opportunities to adjust your daily routine and schedule.

Responsibilities will further consist of:

  • Develop contracting and procurement strategies: Create and implement procurement and contract management strategies to support project goals and project financing requirements.
  • Manage contracting and procurement activities: Oversee contracting and procurement strategies and schedules across all project packages to ensure timelines are met.
  • Lead Contract Negotiations: Negotiate large CAPEX projects under Lumpsum Turnkey terms, strategic supply agreements, and development contracts as well as contracts to support the long-term operation of the plant. Liaising with legal experts and subject matter experts.
  • Cultivate relationships with key suppliers to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Build and Mentor Teams: Oversee and inspire a small team of skilled procurement and contract managers to enhance high performance.
  • Contribute to building our functional capabilities, coordinate supplier engagement with other projects and enhance learnings across projects

You

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in EPC contracting and supply chain development within large-scale projects in PtX, refineries, oil & gas, or similar industries.

You are a strategic thinker, capable of understanding value and risk drivers in large projects. Moreover, you are a motivated collaborator who thrives in a highly effective and innovative environment.

We look for the following in a candidate:

  • A degree in commercial law, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with international EPC and O&M contracts as well as license agreements, reflecting the global nature of our supply chain.
  • Team management experience with the ability to inspire a diverse team of procurement professionals.
  • Familiarity with project financing requirements and engagement with Export Credit Agencies (ECA) is beneficial.
  • Skilled in negotiation and communication, with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
