As a Senior Transshipment Specialist in NORDEN, you will be a key contributor to facilitating, running and improving our process around transshipment. This position requires a blend of strategic planning, operational management, and relationship-building skills to optimise transshipment operations.

This position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, but around 8-12 weeks of travel a year to different sites may be required for bid preparation activities as well as site set up.

What is in it for you
You will join our newly established Logistics team within the Logistics department. This new core team is responsible for realising logistics opportunities, consisting of yourself, a Commercial & Contracts Specialist and a Global Operations Manager.

Your primary responsibility is to oversee transshipment projects from design to operations, including conceptualising systems and managing construction phases.

While this position is in a maritime context, you may have developed your operational experience in a variety of industries including oil and gas, mining and major infrastructure projects ideally with a marine component.

You will collaborate with external consultants for marine architecture advice and internal colleagues for data analysis and risk management.

The tasks that await you
To be more specific your responsibilities will include:

  1. Designing transshipment solutions for new opportunities and liaising with internal and external resources to ensure a robust and profitable solution.
  2. Asset management, meaning participating in negotiation of contracts for new assets and supervising construction and delivery with support from our technical function.
  3. Overseeing transshipment operations, supervising the transshipment schedule and working with port authorities, terminal operators and local vendors.
  4. Logistics and project management to plan and optimise transshipment routes, ensuring proper documentation and regulatory compliance.
  5. Cost and budget management, including controlling, analysing, negotiating and monitoring costs associated with transshipment.
  6. Process improvement through internal collaboration to develop strategies that align with NORDEN’s sustainability and environmental goals.

Your competences and core qualifications
We are looking for a colleague who is curious and ready to participate in building this new core team which will involve bringing innovative ideas forward and engaging with various stakeholders.

Further, to thrive in this position, you:

  1. Have advanced project management and technical skills to structure system design and oversee construction activities.
  2. Have shipping experience, which is key to understanding operations on water and intense material handling in a floating context.
  3. Have at least 7 years of transshipment experience as a provider or a customer.
  4. Have experience with establishing and managing labour forces.
  5. Have experience with P&L.
  6. Hold a degree in engineering, logistics, project management or similar.
  7. Are used to working with multi-disciplinary teams to develop proposals. This could have been obtained in a position as a current or former Master, Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, Shore-based Facility Engineer or similar.
