ABOUT THE TEAM:
The airfare data platform is based on cutting edge cloud technologies which are needed to process several billion events every day, allowing near real-time data queries and historical analytical workloads. The team’s challenge lies in implementing an ingestion and delivery system that can manage ever-growing big data volumes efficiently, measured in low latency and attractive price point. The main technologies used to ingest and transform the data are Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake, and MS SQL. The delivery part of the platform offers an industry-leading data sharing experience to our customers through diverse data distribution channels, such as:

  1. Direct Data Sharing powered by Snowflake;
  2. Feed Files via RClone, SSH.NET, and FluentFT.

More channels will be added as the technology allows and the customers are ready for it.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  1. Leading and managing the software engineering team (DK and LT): 1:1, development plans, feedback
  2. Recruiting and developing high-performing team members
  3. Acting as key team interface to internal stakeholders
  4. Driving innovation and continuous improvements
  5. Ensuring Continuous Delivery best practices are followed
  6. Ensuring the best coding practices are applied
  7. Ensuring well-structured documentation is produced
  8. Applying Agile methodology to ensure efficient delivery of the project scope
  9. Sharing business domain and technical knowledge across the organization
  10. Owning overall product architecture and technical vision
  11. Contributing to overall OAG architecture and technical vision
  12. Hands-on contribution to product development activities
  13. Keeping up to date with relevant technologies and best practices

IF YOU HAVE:

  1. Strong background in hands-on software engineering role (e.g., .NET developer, QA Engineer)
  2. Solid experience in Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices
  3. Solid experience in applying appropriate automation testing tools and frameworks (Unit, Component, Integration, Feature tests)
  4. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) like Terraform
  5. Experience in applying Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, DSDM)
  6. Experience working with AWS
  7. Experience with SQL, MS SQL, Snowflake
  8. Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, and Scala
  9. Experience working with Azure is beneficial
  10. Experience with CosmosDB or another NoSQL database is beneficial
  11. Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
  12. Strong interpersonal skills
  13. Great communication skills
  14. Fluency in English (at least B2)
