About the Department

The National Center for Climate Research (NCKF) is a leading research institution in the field of climate science. The department where this position is located has a strong profile in global and regional climate modeling, as well as remote sensing.

The position is part of the Horizon Europe project 'LIQUIDICE' and collaborates with sister projects 'ICELINK' and 'CRYOSCOPE'. As part of NCKF, you will work in a team with a strong international profile, using both English and Danish as working languages.

The position involves working with our earth system model containing ice sheets in both hemispheres as interacting components: EC-Earth, the Parallel Ice Sheet Model (PISM), and our surface mass balance model CISSEMBEL. You will design and execute model experiments, develop and improve the model code and climate-ice sheet coupling, and analyze modeled climate outputs.
