Computational Immunology Research Director

KU SUND Mærsk Tårnet is actively seeking an Associate Professor in Computational Immunology and Systems Biology to lead our research efforts in vaccine development. As a Senior Group Leader, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge research projects that integrate computational and experimental approaches to advance understanding of immune responses to vaccines.
About the Position
This is a unique opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of novel vaccines. You will be expected to lead a multidisciplinary research group to interpret and predict immunity, identify novel immune biomarkers, and predict vaccine efficacy. You will work closely with other leaders at KU SUND Mærsk Tårnet to ensure translational sciences are integrated into all aspects of research.
Responsibilities
- Scientific/Research Leadership & Management: Lead a research group of scientists and technicians located within state-of-the-art facilities. Provide in-depth guidance and supervision, and hire new members as needed. Collaborate with other groups to generate knowledge and intellectual property that can be used extensively by the organization.
- Research Facilities: Design, implement, and maintain state-of-the-art facilities for discovery, research, and early development activities. Maintain such facilities according to national and international quality standards.
- Cross Collaboration: Provide collaborative leadership and participate in cross-cutting project teams to ensure research is closely integrated with other research groups.
- External Partnerships & Collaborations: Partner and collaborate with external groups to gain access to model systems and related technologies that can apply to our mission.
- Strive for Translational Sciences: Lead close collaborations with NIVI-D to ensure that research activities have a strong basis in translational sciences and that future development requirements are considered in all aspects of research.
- Research-based teaching: Supervise students, teach courses, and conduct examinations in relevant fields. Act as a representative externally for KU SUND Mærsk Tårnet and NIVI at scientific events and congresses internationally. Play a crucial role supporting the governance of KU SUND Mærsk Tårnet.
