This PhD position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of highly efficient, flexible, and sustainable solar cells through photonic crystallization and annealing techniques.

The successful candidate will work with a talented team of researchers to explore new methods for crystallizing antimony chalcogenide (Sb₂X₃) films, leveraging solution-based approaches and rapid thermal annealing (RTA) and flash lamp annealing (FLA).

The project has a strong focus on collaboration, both within the Thin-Film Photovoltaics group at DTU Risø campus and with international research partners at Empa, Switzerland. Our team strives to foster a dynamic and inclusive environment that promotes innovation and growth.

Job Description:

As a PhD researcher in this project, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing photonic crystallization and annealing techniques
  • Characterizing and optimizing the physical and electrical properties of materials and devices
  • Collaborating with researchers from DTU and Empa to achieve project goals

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with thin-film deposition techniques and characterization methods
  • Strong interest in photovoltaics, renewable energy, and photonic processes
