Procurement Specialist Role: Supply Chain Optimization Professional

Maersk Group - A.P. Møller Mærsk's Indirect Supply Chain function is a vital component within the Asset Strategy & Strategic Partnership organization, supporting Maersk HQ's, Technology, and other Strategic Functions across diverse locations/geographies.

The primary objective of iSC is to execute operational and tactical procurement tasks with high quality, efficiency, and customer focus, driving compliance to policies.

iSC works closely with related functions such as Accounts Payable, Finance, and Vendor Management to ensure P2P processes are efficient, allowing for automation where possible.

The team delivers various types of analytics on performance in process and drives saving potentials through behavior change, requiring attention to detail and high service levels for stakeholders.

This exciting opportunity involves joining a team of procurement professionals, participating in transactional and project-related activities within the iSC team, making these activities more transparent and consumable by stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and internal relations, leveraging data insights and self-serve options across Maersk mediums.
  • Liaising with key partners across AP, Finance, and Vendor Management to optimize P2P processes based on data analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Using data to drive a systematic approach to managing transactions associated with vendor spend, supporting long-term business goals.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, ensuring the procurement agenda is understood and integrated into collective work.
  • Maintaining compliance and being an ambassador for cost efficiencies, tone, and behaviors in all engagements.
  • Maintaining and developing customer-facing tools, insights, and portal.

  • Presentation layer expertise and a driver behind creating a one-stop shop for everything iSC.
  • A candidate with a keen interest in developing in-depth knowledge and experience in the procurement discipline, handling situations independently with minimal guidance.
  • Growing understanding of the overall business nature and interdependencies between procurement and other functions.
  • Thriving in a fast-paced environment, being a true team player with strong analytical abilities and exceptional communication skills.
  • An ideal candidate would have a degree combined with relevant corporate experience and a willingness to develop.

  • Demonstrating strong analytical skills.
  • Having a keen interest in structured delivery experiences in project-based environments, delivering strong results and being solution-oriented.
  • Having relevant procurement, P2P, and negotiation skills along with financial and accounting acumen, able to engage with such functions and learn/grow.
  • Familiarity with business cost drivers and supply chain landscapes.
  • A performer who excels in executing under pressure, delivering high-quality products both individually and within a team.
  • Understanding stakeholder management and building rapport even in challenging situations across various roles.
  • Motivated, self-driven individuals with entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to develop independent decision-making ability.
