Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Public Financial Management Systems Specialist to support our core team during the implementation of the EU-funded project. The successful candidate will have a strong background in government financial management, PMF, PFM Reform, budgeting, and expenditure control.

The specialist will work closely with the Government of The Gambia to design and improve government financial management systems, leveraging expertise in Public Sector Accounting Standards and IMF Government Financial Statistics reporting.

This is a contract position for 180 days, starting May 2025, and will be based in Banjul, The Gambia.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. A university degree in accounting, financial management, business administration, or a related field;
  2. A good command of English (CEFR C1) (minimum requirement);
  3. At least 10-12 years of experience in leading or assessing Integrated Financial Management Information Systems (IFMIS) end-to-end implementation;
  4. Strong background in government financial management, PMF, PFM Reform, budgeting, and expenditure control;
  5. Experience with Public Sector Accounting Standards and IMF Government Financial Statistics reporting;
  6. Expertise in designing and improving government financial management systems;
  7. 6-8 years working experience with implementing or assessing large, complex enterprise resource planning (ERP) projects within a public sector context;
