Associate Professor in Peptide and Protein Medicinal Chemistry

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor to join our team at the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology. The successful candidate will contribute to our research and education activities, focusing on biopharmaceutical studies of peptide ligands that target protein function.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in peptide ligand discovery, biochemical and biophysical characterization of peptides and proteins, and investigations of protein folding.
- Develop and teach research-based courses in relevant fields within the department's education activities.
- Lead research projects, guide and supervise researchers, and engage in outreach and/or innovation activities.
- Attract external funding and share knowledge with the surrounding society.
- Participate in academic assessments and contribute to the department's research and education strategy.
- Research qualifications at the level that can be achieved by satisfactorily completing a period of employment as assistant professor.
- Teaching qualifications and pedagogical competencies.
- Research-based teaching and experience in development and conduction of research-based teaching.
- Strong documented scientific track record in the discovery of bioactive peptides.
- Experience with biophysical protein characterization, in vitro and cell-based assays.
- Track record in attracting external funding and innovation.
The position is a permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week. The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.
