This is an exciting opportunity to join the IBM Technology Expert Labs team as a Solution Architect. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in connecting client technical, functional, and implementation requirements with a solution design and proposal.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert end-to-end technical guidance to lead discovery discussions with prospective clients, assess architecture needs for projects, and work with technical leads and sellers to create proposals.
  • Lead client workshops, influence client stakeholders at all levels, and find the best architectural outcomes that align to business and technology strategies and initiatives into actionable roadmaps with clear direction on execution to ensure business value and ROI.
  • Maintain solution review boards for proposals, including oversight for technology assurance, quality, and risk evaluation.
  • Establish and maintain personal relationships at all levels, from engineers to CIOs, with experience navigating challenging debates to reach healthy resolutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Document and size services-focused solutions, including functional and implementation requirements that connect phases such as design, development, integration, migration, production support, and development operations.
  • Build credibility and services orientation with client stakeholders aligned to infrastructure solutions.
  • Familiarity with the design, deployment, and optimization of infrastructure solutions for IBM zSystems, LinuxONE, and associated operating system and virtualization software, including z/OS or Linux.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience working with a broad spectrum of infrastructure technology solutions.
  • Cloud consulting experience, including SaaS / IaaS / PaaS and/or Cloud.
  • Technical expertise in z/OS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, or SUSE operating systems and associated mainframe system software.
  • Deep technical expertise in at least one systems software and technical domain, such as cyber resiliency, security, encryption, enterprise containers, automation, application modernization, networking, and performance.
