Marine Surveyor Opportunity

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Marine Surveyor to join our team in Reykjavik, Iceland. As a Marine Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting quality inspections of ships in service and marine equipment to determine their conformity with specified requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

• Undertake class and statutory surveys of ships in service following applicable classification rules and statutory regulations;
• Carry out ISM/ISPS audits and MLC inspections;
• Perform inspections of marine equipment and materials at manufacturers;
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all survey and inspection reports and certificates are factual, objective, and submitted within the stipulated format and timeframe;
• Participate in internal and external meetings;
• Attend scheduled trainings (locally and overseas), with a view to achieving specified delegations as agreed in the individual Performance and Development Process.

Requirements:

• Good IT skills;
• Proficient in spoken and written English and Icelandic;
• Holds a valid residence permit for Iceland;
• Available to travel on short notice and accept short to mid-term abroad assignments as required;
• Prepared to work outside normal business hours and occasionally on weekends.
