We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Category Manager to join our Indirect Category Management Travel team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in procuring a range of travel categories, including Global Hotels, Meetings & Events, Car Hire & Travel Management Company.

As a successful candidate, you will have significant responsibility from the start and be expected to execute and deliver on time and with a great sense of detail. You will work closely with stakeholders across all departments and geographies, liaising with travel suppliers globally.

The salary for this position is approximately $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The location for this role is DK - Copenhagen.

About the JobKey Responsibilities:
  • Map and evaluate travel data on current spend patterns and identifying cost drivers and opportunities across categories.
  • Create and optimize dashboards for internal stakeholders and Maersk leadership on travel spend.
  • Assist strategic decision-making through data analysis and daily feedback from stakeholders.
  • Assist with and single-handedly execute various tenders and projects.
  • Servicing internal stakeholders on various operational ad-hoc requests related to travel activities.
  • Assist the global Category Managers with their categories i.e. Airlines, Hotel, Meetings & Events and Travel Agencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (Master degree or similar is preferred).
  • Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis; develop and implement new methodologies and evaluation to drive actionable results, with a sharp eye for details.
  • Excellent written, oral, and formal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adjust priorities as needed and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to influence and communicate across the organization at multiple levels.
  • Mastering Excel based review and able to transform conclusions into sharp key messages.
  • Comfortable working with PowerPoint and PowerBI and interested in being able to develop and deliver clear written messages.
  • Strong professional interest in the Travel Industry. Experience from a job in the airline/hotel industry or Travel Management Company is an advantage.
  • Entrepreneurial in spirit and adaptable in a continuously changing environment.
  • International mind-set supported by high level of proficiency and confidence in spoken and written English.
  • Service minded and comfortable communicating with many different cultures and all levels of the organisation.
  • Interested in developing your skills within Procurement and taking the first step to a potential career within Maersk Procurement.
