The Automation Test Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and executing testing methodologies to guarantee the quality and functionality of Teradyne Robotics products. This position requires close collaboration with design engineers, product managers, quality assurance teams, and external vendors to formulate effective and efficient testing strategies, develop automated testing scripts, and analyze test outcomes to identify problems, ensuring products align with customer expectations and industry benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Strategy: Create detailed test plans and test cases based on product specifications and requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to grasp product functionalities and user expectations. Test Design and Development: Design and construct automated test scripts utilizing suitable tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#). Establish and maintain test environments that replicate real-world scenarios and conditions. Develop test fixtures and setups for hardware products. Test Execution and Analysis: Conduct both manual and automated tests, ensuring comprehensive coverage of product functionalities. Evaluate test results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams to address issues. Generate detailed test reports, emphasizing defects, performance metrics, and areas for enhancement. Continuous Improvement: Persistently enhance testing processes, tools, and methodologies to boost product quality and testing efficiency. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in test engineering. Documentation and Reporting: Record test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results. Prepare and present test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with development, QA, and product teams to ensure alignment on testing objectives and product quality standards. Engage in design and code reviews to provide feedback on testability.

To excel in the role of Automation Test Engineer at UR, we envision you possess the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline 5+ years of experience in product or test development, quality assurance, or a related engineering position Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#. Experience with Data Analysis and Statistical Process Control Methods Familiarity with hardware testing at various levels from PCBA to System Level Test. PCBA Testing includes Automated Inspection methods, In-Circuit Test, and Functional Test Strong understanding of software development life cycles and agile methodologies.

Additionally, we seek individuals with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, a keen attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and effective communication abilities.

Preferred qualifications:

Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware testing Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure) Familiarity with ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems

We provide an office environment that includes regular lab work for hardware testing and production support. The role may require occasional travel to various locations within the company or to external supplier facilities.
