Senior Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist Clinical Professor Position

The Bispebjerg og Frederiksberg hospital is seeking a highly skilled Senior Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist to fill the position of Clinical Professor. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
About the PositionWe are looking for a board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine: Gastroenterology and Hepatology who can demonstrate expertise in clinical gastroenterology/hepatology, as well as acute and elective surgery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and liver diseases, and experience in treating colorectal cancer, advanced endoscopy, complex IBD-fistulas, and anal fistulas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading clinical research and teaching at the Digestive Disease Centre K, Section of gastroenterology-hepatology at Copenhagen University Hospital - Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg. This will involve developing interdisciplinary functions in diagnostics and treatment, such as endoscopy and ultrasound, and strengthening collaboration between the medical and surgical sections through joint conferences.
Job DescriptionThis is a full-time position that requires the incumbent to work closely with the head of the Digestive Disease Centre and the department management. The Clinical Professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50% of a full-time secretary position from the Digestive Disease Centre. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the Digestive Disease Centre.
Requirements- Board certification in Internal Medicine: Gastroenterology and Hepatology
- Strong background in clinical gastroenterology/hepatology, acute and elective surgery, IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), liver diseases, and colorectal cancer
- Experience in treating advanced endoscopy, complex IBD-fistulas, and anal fistulas
- Ability to develop interdisciplinary functions in diagnostics and treatment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
The Clinical Professor will be employed as a consultant at the Capital Region/Region Zealand and the University of Copenhagen. Salary and conditions of employment will be as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists, and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and the University of Copenhagen.
