We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team, led by Professors Tilmann Weber and Ling Ding.

Job Description:
We invite applications from candidates with a strong background in natural products chemistry, chemical ecology, and molecular biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and characterizing bioactive metabolites and their biosynthetic gene clusters from actinomycetes isolated from our CeMiSt sampling sites in Dyrehaven. They will also develop and implement assays to assess the chemical ecology of these metabolites in shaping microbial communities.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct literature surveys and formulate scientific hypotheses in collaboration with colleagues at CeMiSt.
  • Develop and implement analytical methods for natural product isolation, purification, and structure elucidation.
  • Design and execute experiments to investigate the ecological role of microbial secondary metabolites.

Required Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. degree in a relevant field (natural products chemistry, chemical ecology, or molecular biology).
  • Strong background in natural products chemistry, including practical experience in isolation, purification, and structure elucidation.
  • Documented experience with filamentous actinomycetes or other non-model bacteria is beneficial.
  • Excellent oral and written English skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
