As a senior research scientist at the Department of Neuroscience, you will contribute to the advancement of pain biology research, leveraging your expertise in in vivo imaging, single cell RNA sequencing, and molecular pharmacology. You will work closely with our team to develop new treatments for chronic pain, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and innovative methodologies.

Job Description

This is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 2.5 years. The starting date is flexible, but preference will be given to candidates who can start by July 1st, 2025.

About the Role

This position is part of our ongoing efforts to understand the mechanisms of chronic pain and develop new treatments. You will be responsible for conducting single cell mRNA sequencing studies, in vivo imaging of the dorsal root ganglion in anesthetized mice using multiphoton imaging, generating and maintaining mouse models, implementing various animal pain models, performing behavioral experiments, phenotypical characterization of genetic mouse models with a focus on pain behavior, and establishing in vivo imaging of neurons.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • PhD in neuroscience or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years postdoctoral research experience
  • Extensive experience in rodent pain models, particularly in conducting in vivo imaging experiments with transgenic and knockout mouse models, sequencing, and strong knowledge of pain biology
