We are seeking a talented PhD candidate to join our team and contribute to the development of high-quality STEM teaching at university level. As part of this project, you will empower the next generation of engineers by promoting deep learning and conceptual understanding.

The aim of this project is to enhance student learning by exploring how students construct their conceptual understanding of central terms and concepts of physics. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement a research plan that addresses this objective.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will lead the development of a research plan that investigates how students learn and do – or do not – construct a profound conceptual understanding of central terms and concepts of physics.
  • You will apply systematic approaches to investigate and document which elements of the experimenting teaching are crucial for the students to achieve deeper learning and a better conceptual understanding.
Requirements
  • A BSc in physics followed by a master's degree in educational science, philosophy, physics, engineering, or similar.
  • Prior experience with pedagogical training would be beneficial.
