Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The successful candidate will be working on a European project that aims to transform animal feed production into a sustainable and resource-efficient process.

The main focus of this position is to explore the diversity of environmental hydrogenotrophic bacteria and link their growth performance to their genomic content. Additionally, the candidate will develop hydrogenotrophic bacteria as chassis for heterologous protein expression.

This role requires a strong background in microbiology, biotechnology, or genetic engineering, with excellent research skills and experience in experimental design and data analysis. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, conduct, report, interpret and disseminate research in bacterial bioengineering
  • Develop hydrogenotrophic bacteria as chassis for heterologous protein expression
  • Contribute to common activities of the Research Group and the Department

Requirements:

  • MSc/PhD degree in microbiology, biotechnology, or genetic engineering
  • Strong background in microbiology, biotechnology, or genetic engineering
